I have just added my first non z-wave device, a lightwaveRF dimmer switch.
When I created it in Vera I got two devices: a dimmer device and a mood controller.
Does anyone know how I can configure the mood controller to do different things, or does it serve any particular purpose that I couldn’t just achieve using Vera scenes?
Did you manage to configure the mood controller?
No - I didnt.
But I did manage to get the other switch working so it turned off the light. That just needed a RFX firmware update.

Something that’s worth understanding about the lightwaveRF system is that the moods are saved within the dimmer / socket not the remote. This means that any remote that recalls ‘mood 1’ will get the same result from the dimmers / sockets it’s paired with.
As ‘recall mood 1’ is a single command, all paired devices will get to the required state far faster than sending out a series of individual commands from Vera.
The down side is that you can’t have a mood that leaves one of the paired devices in it’s current state. eg you have a remote that’s paired with your living room and dining room lights that will allow you to control them individually. However you can’t have a mood setting that will set all the living room lights but leave the dining room in whatever state you last set it.
