Communication error with your Vera.

How can I fix this problem I have a communication error with my Vera. I unplug it to try to reset it and that always works but not this time. I don’t know where to start next please help.

I am just having the same problem and submited a ticket…everything works perfectly locally but I get a communications error when using Findvera.com…and going to control option.

I purchased SQ remote and it is terrific…but without Findvera I can’t get to it when away from my house.

Maybe it is a server problem I’ll let you know if I hear back from MCV on the Trouble ticket.

shot in the dark…

In advanced, network/wifi
try ‘troubleshoot network’ and see if tunnels and vera report ok…

Thanks Mgtyquin for the response…Yes everything reports OK including tunnels…that is what is so strange.

All of a sudden I can’t connect with findvera…

Does anyone know what the failsafe tunnel checkbox is suppose to do? Should it be checked or left unchecked?

I know failsafe is not checked on my box., I tried it when my comms were not working (just to see if anything started working) and got an error. Anytime I had problems like you described I had tunnel problems… guess there are other things that can cause the failure. Sorry I couldn’t help.

At this point I would put a ticket in. I know last night when I downgraded to UI2 I lost findvera capabilities. I put a ticket in last night and they had me back and running by this morning.
.

Thanks Les…I submited a ticket this morning and waiting to hear.

I can’t understand what would make it look as everyting is ok (including troubleshooting) and not work.

But I’m hesitant to reboot everyting because I might cause more issues…I’ll be patient and wait to hear.

Just curious does you router ever show port forwarding for your Vera? Mine doesn’t and wondered if it should.

Thanks again for both responses!!!;

no port forwarding on my FIOS router, and UPnP is disabled on it as well.
