CM15pro/CM15a/CM15/CM19 direct compatibility with Vera3

Hello Peter,

If you decide to head along the RFXtrx, I have made a small change to enable you to add the x10 devices. Note: this is not a problem with the original design of the plug but is a defect with 1.5408 see comments here http://forum.micasaverde.com/index.php/topic,11061.msg86351.html#msg86351.

I am in need of a little help with my VeraLite and the Mochad plug in. I have installed it, but the Vera Lite is not seeing the CM15A that I have plugged in and the directions that I have found on the internet really don’t talk about setting it up in the VeraLite. After about 15 minutes or so a message appears below the device that the app created saying Lua Startup Failure. Does anyone have advice or clear instructions for making this work?

Should I use RFXtrx?

Any help on this would be great.

Thanks,

E

Hello epauldc29,

Have you had a look at the instructions in this post which relate to the CM11 plug running directly on Vera.
http://forum.micasaverde.com/index.php/topic,10593.msg82160.html#msg82160

Vera and modifying USB devices do require a restart when changes are performed so you need to be very careful. Lets just say, it is a little sensitive. You can only use the RFXtrx plug in if you have the RFXCOM’s USB device with the matching frequency to X10 devices.

Hi, I have just received and installed my new veralite controller but having trouble with the X10 interface setup.

After spending hours reading various posts regarding the use of the CM11 interface for controlling X10 modules, I still can’t seem to get my VeraLite to send a command to my X10 device. It keeps indicating “INSTEON not ready”.

My Setup:
VeraLite firmware = 1.5.408
CM11 interface plugged into veralite USB port.

I have following the instructions in this thread and I have created the X10 device properly (veralite seems to recognize it on the USB port) but I did not understand the part about uploading the Luup files. Couldn’t’ find any link to these files.

I have a feeling I need to change the device advanced settings “Controlled via” to select my newly created X10 device instead of the “Insteon Network”, which it is currently set for.

However, the warning that appears when trying to change this setting scares me “Changing the parent of a device may brick your Vera. Are you sure you want to continue?

I really don’t want to have to buy another one of these due to an incorrect device setting.

Any help with this would be really appreciated?

Thanks.
Pat.

Thanks for the quick response.
Yes, I followed those instructions but still no luck.

I am using a TrendNet TU-S9 USB to Serial adapter between my veralite and the CM11 interface. Perhaps this is not supported by the veralite.

You don’t use that section, you need to turn INSTEON off. It’s under apps, as per Brientim’s instructions.

Does this also work for the CM19a (RF X10 receiver w/ USB connector)?

Well, if I turn INSTEON off, then it will not let me add any X10 devices. Unless there is another way to add X10 devices other than "DEVICES >> Add Devices >> Add INSTEON or X10 devices, like light switches, thermostats, sensors, etc. " section.

Also, in the posted instructions by Brientim it says …
"Goto APPS > Develop Apps > Luup Files
In the Upload Files section and select browse and select the unzipped files (for as many as there is). "

Does this mean I have to download all the files listed under “Current Files” and then upload load them?

It also indicates the use of “D_CM11.xml” and “I_CM11.xml” files … but I don’t see them in the “Current Files” list.

Really, this should not be this difficult to setup. What am I missing?

Hello,

The original posting and files were created by @yoocesar see posts 1 and 3 as they both contain files. Original thread is located here.

Download the files and then try again.

Sorry for not keeping up to date but work has taken presence of my normal life. I have managed to take time of this week so I can enjoy my Family again.

The reasons for this confusion is there have been a number of separate threads created for people who, like recent others, have experienced issues when trying to do this.

It is probably time to migrate the three threads to be one.

You would need the RFXCOM.com USB device to utilise the Rfxtrx plug in.
However, according to early or other posts for The original app created by @yoocesar http://forum.micasaverde.com/index.php/topic,10817.0.html
This plugin is not compatable with the CM19a and I suppose the best way to establish this is to give it a try.
