Chumby or Sony Dash?

I’m ready to start looking at some of these options for table top control and/or as an alarm clock replacement for the nightstand.

I searched and user “wseverino” said that he got a Chumby One last year, and I found a link on the web that looks like there’s a developer working on something with Chumby and Vera.

The Sony Dash is getting some rough reviews, but it looks beautiful for the most part.

Any thoughts?

With no connection to Vera, if I was looking for clock replacement I’d pick Squeezebox Touch

Great Suggestion! Thanks 325xi, I think the Squeezebox Touch could be a contender.

I use my iPhone as a remote which works well. I keep the bookmark for the mobile Vera website on the home page. In fact, I have two icons – one for my wireless network and one for the website. And the alarm clock function is great. You can have your choice of alarms or you can use a third party utility such as iRinger and record your own. If money were of no object, I would buy an iPad and use it as a z-wave remote, television/TiVo remote, alarm clock. Then I wouldn’t have to look for my glasses.

Bringing this one back to life.

I really like the overall look of the Sony Dash…Seems like it would make a great controller unit.
The Chumby made one looks interesting but I need to learn more about it.

Both are quite affordable and that Chumby OS seems to be the perfect partner for Vera IMO

You might also want to take a look at the Bestbuy one also, some good feedback in this thread about it:
