Been having a strange issue and I think it started happening since the latest UI7 updates. I make changes to a condition or I add a condition. I then click “Reload Luup”. After reloading all or some of the changes are gone. In the latest scenario I created a condition called “AutoOnPortch”. After reloading Luup it showed up as AutoOnPort. I tried adding the CH multiple times but it kept reverting after the reload. I also was debugging a logic and it doing so I often break down the different components of the logic into their own condition to see if that part of the logic is true or not. I created 4 new conditions and only two were their after the reload. This happened once after I had added a trigger as well.
I found it takes a long time. If you type them in and click reload then click refresh it won’t save. I have to make my changes click outside the box and wait for some time (5min or more) and it will auto reload and save. I then refresh after another several min.
I have never had this issue before the last week or so. I have done heavy work in Pleg and often would create a condition and immediately reload just to see if it spit out any errors.
This problem is persisting if not getting worse. I am attaching a report of my current PLEG configuration in case someone sees something that could cause this behavior. Have I overloaded the PLEG and need to split this into two?
I have never ever had to wait any period of time before. I can make changes and then click Reload to apply the changes. It is getting very difficult to make changes as I have to refresh my window, go back into pleg and then hope the changes took.
This sounds like a bug in Vera … It needs to dump it’s state before reloading.
Normally Vera dumps this out every 6 minutes. But must also do it before reloading … This is the state that is restored after a reload.
I have never seen problems on UI5 … I have seen many instances of this on UI7 … So I believe MCV has a transient problem persisting the state.
I consider this an extremely severe error … and is one of the main reasons I have not moved up to UI7.

Thanks for the response. As I noted this seems to have started with a recent UI7 update so your probably correct in it being a vera problem. Guess I should consider rolling back to an earlier release to see if this fixes the issue.

I am also noticing this same issue, but I’m not so sure it just started after the last update.
FYI, I rolled back to firmware 1.7.1598 with factory default. I then restored from backup and the issue is resolved. I then tested making a new condition and within a second hit reload to experience the issue again. But if I just go about normally which is to type out the condition. Then look over it for mistakes and then click reload it works just fine. So I see what your saying that UI7 has an issue but apparently the latest firmware release made the issue much worse.
Well the problem came back so I guess it is not an update. This is making it very difficult to create and troubleshoot conditions.
I was thinking that this problem goes back further. My only advice is not to rush. Sometimes I make changes click away and go get something to drink. When I come back click reload let it do it’s think and click one more time then wait before I refresh. If you refresh the page to early the changes are lost. I try to hold off until I know it has had plenty of time to take the changes.
Also having this problem, started prior to the last two updates. An action shows “3” things to be done although I deleted one (should show “2”). In fact, I removed the device from the system entirely and then re-included it (showed “2”, removed the device… still showed “2”, re-included the device and added to PLEG… now shows “3”)
Changes are showing but are not executing.
Richard, any more insight? My PLEG usage is pretty much frozen at this point since no new changes are sticking.
This is a VERA problem.
Slow down … wait a few minutes before you reload your Vera.

I understand that this is a Vera problem but it wasn’t a problem a few weeks ago, not for me anyway. There are times I wait a good 5 minutes and still end up losing some of my work. Now if I am simply adding something not a big deal but if I need to try and troubleshoot some logic that isn’t working right waiting 10 minutes to test each change I make is crippling me. There has to be a reason that it just suddenly started happening.
Hi
I’ve had this same problem since November 2015 when I got a new Vera Edge
http://forum.micasaverde.com/index.php/topic,34699.0.html
Which makes using PLEG extremely difficult.
That is interesting. I switched to a Vera Edge at the end of December. I migrated from a Vera 3 and used a backup to restore everything including my PLEG devices. I had some non PLEG related issues and after speaking with Vera support was told that since I originally began with UI5 and had upgraded to UI7 there were bugs that would never be fixed. I had upgraded my vera 3 to UI7 over a year ago and yes things were probably slower then I liked but PLEG was rock solid. On the advice of the Vera rep I started from scratch on UI7. This also meant recreating all of my PLEG devices from scratch which was a lot of work. During this time I had no issue with saving my work in PLEG. The issues in PLEG started in January when trying to make some small changes. I can swear I performed two upgrades in early to mid January but when I look at the Vera firmware releases there was only one in January and one in November. So I am thinking that I did not do the November update until January and that is what started my issues with PLEG. I may try going back to the firmware prior to November.
You can try, but being around for some time and preordeing the EDGE I know that this issue has been a hit or miss for some time. I think you just may have been lucky for some time then it ran out. if it was only after one certain update we would all in your same boat and everyone would have been complaining at the same time. This problem gets spurts of reports here and there.
Don;t forget if you go to far back in VERA firmware you need to change PLEG versions also. there was some issues with mix matches not to far back.
I did a fresh setup from scratch when I got my Edge. And when I was previously on a VeraLite UI5 I never used PLEG. So everything was setup as new and I’ve always had issues with PLEG since around earily November.
As I noted in the other thread I have a ticket open with Vera. I had ticket open for something else which was escalated so I threw this issue in with that one. He he me enable Verbose Logging and recreate the issue. I am waiting to hear back. I will share any info I receive.
I’ve just had this problem start tonight, no updates to firmware or PLEG, been working fine since December.
All of a sudden I’m making changes to PLEG, I click elsewhere on the screen, reload luup, test the function and go to Status to find all the changes have dissapeared!!!
Frustrating as hell!
