I’ve been fighting with this CA9000 motion sensor for 3 hours now and can’t get it to trigger basic “turn light on” scene.
I’m pretty new to the Vera box, but not a complete noob.
Using UI5
The sensor seems to have paired ok, it showed up automatically in the control panel.
Set up a new scene that turns a light on.
Set a trigger as follows:
– Set to the CA9000
– “A sensor is tripped” setting
– “Device is Tripped” setting
If I quickly press the button on the sensor twice it turns my light on, but no matter what I do I can’t get the thing to trigger based on motion.
I “think” I have the sensor on 5 minute timing mode (when looking at the sensor it’s one click from the left).
I afraid I don’t have any advice but I’m also struggling to get some CA9000’s to work. They seem to pair but if I try to poll the node, I get nothing back. This is true even if the sensor is sitting right next to the Vera. If I cycle the grey button, I get activity on the UI5 panel saying it’s getting information from the CA9000 but then nothing works after this. I have yet to successfully get a notification for motion. I do get a notification when I click the Arm button in UI5. I would not expect this as I would think this simply arms the unit and from that point motion will trigger (if the notification is set up to send when armed and motion is detected.)
A bit frustrating.
I have 3 of these. They were all working under UI4.
I upgraded to UI5, and 2 of them continue to work fine but 1 exhibits the behavior you mentioned (cannot configure).
Got my 3rd one working. I moved it back by the vera, tapped the zwave button, and double-tapped the power button on the sensor a few times. It added a second device and configured. Weird science.
Well, #3 is not being recognized again this morning. Ughh.
@scottay & intrepid - I bought 3 of the CA9000’s and they paired immediately but I also can’t get them to fire off a trigger to turn on lights or a siren. I’ve tried the “heal” process and can turn on all the lights and siren from MiOS but in the scenes, these motion detectors don’t “detect” anything. I’ve read numerous other (older) blogs and tried on pulse and 5 min settings.
did either of you get these to work? when armed in a scene, I can’t get them to show up as “when an alarm is tripped” or whatever. my only option for a triggered event is “when a device turns on/off”.
Did either of you get these to work with Vera? I’m using UI4
