Can't get ANY devices to include

Vera 2 can’t seem to communicate with ANY of my Z-wave devices. They are all GE/Jasco devices that were working with a GE remote but I’ve removed them. For some reason, Vera just refuses to connect with them. I’ve tried excluding them first but the light just continues to blink in exclude mode (flashing 4 times a second). Am I doing something wrong here? I’ve got GE dimming switches (forget the model number) and ZW3101-WCS lamp modules. I even tried to connect a brand spanking new lamp module that I had stored as a spare that Vera just doesn’t respond even after attempting to exclude first. As a test, I’ve taken my controller over to each device and verified that I can still pair it. They all pair successful, I remove them from the remote, and try with Vera but no dice.

Any ideas? Is my Vera possibly defective? MiOS works beautifully but it’s useless if I can’t connect any devices.

@Harold,

Welcome!

Do you see any (error) messages on the Dashboard, when trying to do the include?
Did this Vera 2 ever work for you?

There have been reports of a loose antenna cable, as well as Vera having been provisioned for the wrong locale (e.g. you’re in EU and Vera is set for the US frequency).

Hello!

I don’t see any error messages in the dashboard. I’ve never been able to par anything with this unit since purchasing it a few months ago.

I opened up my Vera and snapped a few pictures. All seems normal and I see US+ printed on one of the boards.

If you have SSH access, you could check the output from this command:

cat /etc/cmh/zwave_locale

And see if it matches your location ([tt]us[/tt], [tt]eu[/tt], [tt]au[/tt]).

When you push the include button at the back of Vera do you get the message on the dashboard to ‘add devices’??

Just checked it and it shows ‘us’.

Yep, when I go into Include and Exclude mode, the dashboard registers that it’s waiting for adding or removing.

You should contact Tech Support. They will determine if there’s something wrong with your unit and help you include the devices.

Thanks! I’ve got a ticket opened to them. So far we’ve tried the high-powered inclusion mode but still nothing.

Last night, I decided to go ahead and upgrade to the Vera 3. With the $150 rebate, it just seems like the right decision for me. I’ll be sure to drop a note in the box with the issues this unit is having when I send it back.

Thanks to everyone that contributed to troubleshooting this issue! Hopefully, my Vera 3 setup will be painless!
