Okay first support question. Lets see how well this goes. I have an ancient Intermatic HA03 (lamp module) that is paired with an Intermatic HA07 (keypad transceiver). I tried to add the device to Vera (main screen → [Add/Remove devices] → [Add Z-Wave devices, next → add]). I took out the Z-Wave dongle, tapped the button (it was blinking), tap the button again (1 blink/sec), carried it to the module (about 1 ft from it), hit the modules on/off quickly once (it turned on), and nada - no glow on the stick.
So I see this nice link that talks about ‘… previously added to another network’. Well that’s me and the link goes nowhere (to an empty ‘add node’ page on doc2.mios.com). Anyone have any pointers? I’ll try sending an email to the support folks and see what they say too.
In Vera1 with the external Z-Wave USB dongle, a short press of the dongle button puts it into “Add/Include” mode, when the light blinks slow. If you press and hold the button for couple seconds, the light starts blinking fast and it’s in “Remove/Exclude” mode. In the “Remove/Exclude” mode you bring it close to the device and use its own “Include/Exclude” feature (usually just a press of a main button for light switches) to unpair it from another network. Then it’s ready to be included.
Vera2 has Z-Wave module built-in and there is a button labeled “Z-Wave” on the back of Vera. The rest of instructions are the same. Using a battery backup, you can bring Vera close to the device. Or you can use a “High-power” inclusion mode to include a device from a distance w/o moving Vera…
Ah, so I remove the lamp module from its old network (using the instructions you gave me) then I’ll be able to add it?
I’ll give that a try. First I have to walk the dogs. It’s starting to snow and this part of the world goes into a frenzy (milk and bread run out in local stores). ;D
Thanks
Update: rather than add another post I’ll update this message. I was able to use the directions and remove/exclude the device then add/include the lamp module to the Vera. I currently have it working. Thanks!
PS. Glad I looked into this thread, as there are no notifications of the modified posts…[/quote]
Ah, good to know!
I also want to update this thread with the following: a Vera support person replied by email this morning. He gave me the link which said exactly what you said (that’s the link that should be in the Vera help screen!). So support seems okay so far and it was timely. Of course the forums were faster. ;D
