cant create triggers

ok im failing at the first hurdle… relatively new to all this, got all my devices setup as i want now so time to start with PLEG… but i can create any triggers… i select the device but none of the dialogs to configure appear… ive tried factory reset,uninstall, reload the apps. multiple browsers… but i cannot fix for the life of me… stil lrunning ui5 btw

any ideas

Did you also install Program Logic Core (plugin 3086)? If not, you need to do so.

The next move is to clear your browser's cache. On Chrome it's under [b]History[/b].

Have you seen PLEG Basics? If you follow the instructions for creating a Trigger, what happens?

yup tried all that caches cleared, tried IE, firevox and chrome…

when I create a trigger or try to, the attached shows…

On this screen, go ahead and pull down your device and select one. You will then see the screen change to select what type of trigger for your device, you will see a place to name it and you will have to select the detail of the trigger. Then press accept. You have then created a trigger type action.

that’s the point, when I select a device the screen doesn’t change :frowning:

Try uninstall both apps and reinstall.

as I said, done a factory reset, uninstall reinstall and still the same

OK, try this:

Do not delete the current PLEG but create another one from the APPS tab. Click on the text Program Logic Event Generator then click Create another. See if this does the same thing.

BTW: I suppose both PLEG and PLC are version 5.9?

yes both 5.9… im pretty sure this was all working at 5.7 but… anyway

tried that too new device has same issue

…and now also tried 5.8 to be sure… cant seem to get 5.7 from the marketplace otherwise I would have tried that to…

Have you tried to (outside of PLEG) create a scene with a trigger? Perhaps it’s not a PLEG issue.

@Bulldoglowell beat me to it: Do you get the same issue setting a Trigger with a different device (not ID 35)? Can you create a normal Vera scene trigger from device 35?

can create standard scene for #35 and any other device…

cant create any triggers for any device in pleg… :frowning:

Do you have a backup you can restore from?

You may need to work with MCV with a help request.

The browser errors look like jquery exceptions. I think this needs @RichardTSchaefer. He may be about later.

but im very confused… i manage to restore a backup from about a week ago that works…

BUT factory reset, install PLEG and PLEGC and Dayandnight (just so I have a device to trigger) FAILS !

Phew, ive got there in the end…

I fell into the ui6 trap when told to upgrade and successfully downgraded to UI5, as I thought… it appears though that some stuff is left behind. specifically /www/cmh_ui6 even after a factory reset…

So… all the ui5/ui6 capable plugins, including PLEG that check for that directory to determine if UI5 or UI6 see it and setup for UI6… which doesn’t work…

I uninstalled the plugins and deleted all the PL stuff from /etc/cmh-ludl and /www/cmh_ui6, reinstalled and bobs ur uncle, this also caused day_and_night to have similar problems…

I guess I need to see if there is a better way do test for UI5/UI6 …
I did not test … going back to UI5 from UI6. I did not even think of this as a problem … Since you started out by saying you were UI5.
