Can't add a second ip camera

I’m having trouble adding the second of my Dlink DCS-930L cameras manually. No matter what I do it doesn’t show up on the dashboard. I’ve checked the luup files, and there are files for a second camera (D_DigitalSecurityCamera2.*) . Also, if I change the ip number in the first camera to point to my second camera, I do get a images from the second one.

Why doesn’t the second camera show up?

Have you used the ‘Vera Dashboard → Devices → Add Devices → I want to Add an IP camera’ route for adding that camera? If it’s not seen, you may want to manually add option and see if it lists the 2nd camera’s IP Address. If so, click the ‘Select’ button for that line. If not, scroll to the bottom and paste the complete URL for that 2nd camera.

I have 2 of them and both are recognized. Once a device is created for the 2nd camera, check the Advanced tab against the one for your working DC930L in case small changes need to be made.

Using add devices I was able to add my camera, thanks!

However, after some searching I found out that it is impossible to add cameras if you’re logged in remotely. After fonfiguring my router to forward port 80 to my Vera and logging in using mydomain.com, I was able to add my camera the usual way.

I hope you disabled port forwarding afterwards!
