Can't access the iPhone applicaion

All,

I have been trying to access the https://www.findvera.com/iphone portal page and I get “404 Not Found” after I login. I have no issues loggining into https://www.findvera.com

Any Suggestions?

TIA

They changed the URL to https://www.findvera.com/mobile. The wiki page got updated recently to reflect the change.

You have to install the appropriate luup plugin. For some reason, findvera keeps indicating that I haven’t installed the plugin but is fine after I logout from findvera and log back in.

Do you happen to know where can I find the Luup plugin for the iphone? All the applications listed are for Blackberry devices or smart phones?

Go to “Devices–>Luup Plugins–> Install/Uninstall Luup Plugins”. There’s one there for “Smartphone”.

Now that I’ve told you where it is, I have trouble with it from over the Internet, but on my home network it works nicely.

I’m having a problem as well. The /mobile app was working fine from my iPod Touch for quite a while, but now I get a message that the plugin is missing. I removed, and re-installed the plugin with no change, and put in a service request to MCV to which they responded that they have added a Bug Report and will see what solution is in order. That was on 11/10/09, so we’ll give them some time to sort this out.

By the way, I get the same response when accessing the findvera/mobile from my PC.

I keep getting the plugin missing errror as well.

If I log out from findvera and log back in, the error goes away. This “fix” does not require anything on the Vera side other than the initial setup (as per earlier posting).

I as well.

You can also keep hitting the back button on the iPhone & it forces itself to sign back in once you get to your ‘home’ screen… or refresh to the ‘home’ screen on a smartphone. It seems the plugin times out on the device after an amount of inactivity.

Anthony, is this working for you right now? The logout/login procedure?

Yes!!! I noticed it yesterday I believe, but indeed it now works!!
Thanks for that!!

Thanks, Everyone. I was able to get this to work.

Sorry guys, I was out of town and did not see the forum.

No, I cannot get mine to work by logging out or pressing the back button as described. I was actually down in SC where my Vera is being used (normally I live in NY) so I took the opportunity to unplug Vera, and also delete and re-install the mobile plugin.

thanks for following up with me,
Anthony

Hi,

Anthony, when you’ve send us the trouble report, I’ve added a bug report for this. It’s unusual what’s happening on your Vera. See: http://bugs.micasaverde.com/view.php?id=739

We will have this fixed as soon as possible.

Upgraded firmware today to .979 and now I can’t access Vera (remotely thru findwera.com) with my iPhone. When I try to login to findvera.com I get “Select plugin not installed” even though the plugin for Smartphone is installed (and was working fine with .918). Logging out and back in doesn’t help.
Is there a problem with findvera.com/mobile???

I have another Vera using .616 firmware and iPhone remote access works great.

Hi everyone,

Try always to do a clear cache on your browser after a firmware upgrade. See this wiki page how to do this on most popular browsers:
http://wiki.micasaverde.com/index.php/Clear_Browser_Cache

Also, clear the cache on your mobile browser as well.

Clearing the cache worked for me! Now the mobile app works on my iPod touch.

Thanks,
Anthony

Cleared cache on iPhone browser (Safari) and also cleared cache on my computer (not sure why clearing cache on computer is relevant since the problem is with accessing Vera via iPhone and cell network). Does Vera have a “cache”?

Anyway, problem (remote access to findvera.com/mobile) still exists after caches cleared. Any other suggestions???

This is interesting… After I cleared the cache on my iPod Touch, and as I reported earlier, my mobile app worked fine, when I fired up the mobile app from my desktop iMac it also worked fine. Before I cleared the iPod cache, the mobile app did not work on my desktop either, that is why I was sure it was a Vera problem.

Now I’m just confused, but happy everything works!

Anthony

Hi Anthony,

It must be a coincidence, a happy one, as the browser cache from your desktop expired and the Smartphone Web Interface worked there as well.

6hcAtl,

Please send a trouble report from your Vera. As stated in the bug report: http://bugs.micasaverde.com/view.php?id=739 there was a problem. Send the logs so we can see if this is happening to you too.

Thanks!

Trouble ticket #1476 submitted.

Hi 6hcAtl,

We identified the problem and fixed your Vera a couple of minutes ago. Please test and see if everything’s ok now.
