I am using a VeraLite, and connected a Schlage Link lock successfully. I cannot set up pin codes on the lock. It is connected and will lock and unlock on command, but when I try to set a pin code through the interface, I recieve the error code “Command failed no avail user code”. Does anyone know how to fix this, or could someone suggest how to load a firmware version that will ollow this to work ?
Reading the forums shows that the software in a lot of cases just doesn’t work. I just can’t understand how can they get away selling these things knowing that they don’t work ?

I’m not sure if this applies in your case, but the following solution solved my issue with my Schlage lock.
I was having trouble with my Schlage lock sending notifications, so it was suggested to me that maybe the Schlage lock was not properly INCLUDED with my Vera 2 UI4. So just today, I followed the attached instructions (below) to EXCLUDE the lock, then RESET the lock to default factory settings, then INCLUDE the lock once again.
Take note that after you INCLUDE the lock, get Vera out of INCLUDE mode and back to normal state, but keep Vera near the lock (within three feet) for up to 30 minutes. Vera and the lock must exchange 19 encryption codes, even if no codes have been entered yet.
After about 30 minutes, return Vera to the router network and you should see the Schlage lock on the dashboard. Try entering your new PINS.
If it doesn’t work, try the EXCLUDE/RESET/INCLUDE process again. I ran into a problem where the factory RESET for the lock did not take the first time. When it finally did, everything else worked fine.

I got the same error message: "“Command failed: no avail user codes”.
I excluded then included again to no avail. I then excluded, reset to factory defaults and included and it seems to work ok except not perfectly, see my next string.
I have two locks. And one of them always had that problem. I did all the resets, exclude/includes …
So I assumed it was a hardware problem.
When I upgraded to Vera3 and UI5 it worked!
