First post. Thanks to all the helpful people on this board - have a legacy monitored alarm system (CaddX/NX-8/NextAlarm) working nicely with NX-584E + Vera3 + four new Z-Wave sensors. Good stuff, hope to post some documentation soon to pay it forward.
Problem: I added a wireless Linksys WVC54GC Wi-Fi webcam to Vera3 as an IP camera, manually add. This model wasn’t compatible with Vera (no JPG), so I’d like to delete the device and put in a new compatible cam.
When I try to delete the old Linksys from Vera (wrench in properties) I see the normal “Delete device?” dialog, then “Remove this plugin and any devices this plugin created?” After yes it throws the error “Command failed, invalid plugin.”
I’m guessing somehow the plugin was uninstalled but the device didn’t get removed. Now I can’t get rid of the device.
Knewmania, Thank you for your answer. I wasn’t able to test this because, before you replied, I figured out that the “Plug In” field in the devices properties could be blanked out, then the device can be deleted. I’ll leave it to others to test your solution. On a side note, I didn’t see the device ID in the properties sheet, so anyone feel free to chime in how to get this information for a device.
