Hi,
It should be simple but i cannot include an Everspring SP103 motion sensor.
Including should be happening by pressing the tamperswitch but it does nothing.
Any ideas ?
Thx.

If vera is in inclusion mode and you are close to the device then most likely it is a power problem. maybe a polarity problem with the battery? Did you try different batteries?
Hi Otterlo,
Thanks for your reply.
I tried close enough to Vera. Checked polarity, is ok, saw led blinking.
I used the batteries that were included with the device.
I will try other batteries.
Best regards.
Hi Lokupa
If the led goes on then power should be ok.
If you normally dont have problems including other devices then maybe you received a faulty sp103.
Have you tried excluding (first, then including)?
Hi guys,
To include i just have to press the tamperswitch ONCE, to exclude also just press the tamperswitch ONCE.
It just doesn’t work even after trying new batteries.
With most of the everspring devices you have to press the tamperswitch 3 times within 1,5 secondes.
I do have the SP 814 motion sensor, the SF 812 smoke detector and the SM 103 door sensor.
They all have the same procedure to include or exclude and they work very fine.
It’s a little odd that the SP 103 has another procedure, isn’t it ?
I really don’t know what i’m doing wrong here ?
Have you tried following the same procedure as the other modules you have? Like you say, seems odd to have a different procedure for this one?
Quinten,
Yes, i have but it doens’t help.
I searched the internet but there isn’t that much info available about the SP 103.
Do you use one ?
Maybe i should try to update the firmware but i don’t know how to do that.
Last thing…it’s a faulty device but even that looks odd to me.

Hi Lokupa
I recently also bought the SP103 and only had to click once on the tamper to get it included.
Maybe you can try using both ways on Vera, the normal way via the userinterface by adding devices and
you can try by disconnecting power and press the + button to include.
don’t know if it helps, but you can try always. Otherwise i would have it returned.
Otterlo,
YESSSSS it works !
I always add my devices by using the + button, i tought that was the normal way.
Now i tried it by the userinterface and that did the trick !!!
I saw that vera resetted the device and that was proberly the problem.
Now i can start to Play around before installing.
Thanks a lot to all of you !!

I have the same problem now.
After working SP 103 for almost a year it suddenly stopped working, so i replaced the batteries but it didn’t work.
I exclude the device (pressing long on the Z-Wave button on my Vera 2) and exclude the device by pressing once on the tanper switch.
The same i did to include the device, pressing once on the z-wave button on my Vera 2 and once on the SP 103, but nothing happens …
I’m lost, did everything by the book and tried also 3 times within 1 sec. but that didn’t work.
What is the "+ " button you mentioned ?
Hi
it is the + switch on the vera lite module itself, when you take the veralite module to the sensor (vera on batteries)…
