Cannot get vera2 to attach to wi-fi network

I’ve tried setting up the wifi as recommended here: http://wiki.micasaverde.com/index.php/WiFiClientMode

It does not work. Any suggestions on how to get the vera2 to connect to the wifi network?? If it’s not attached with a hardwire, it just does not work at all.

It would help us if you post the steps you tried so that we can give you specific advice. Are you trying to use Vera as a Bridge? If so, click on 1. “Advance” 2. “Net & Wifi” 3. “Through a wi-fi access point. MiOS is a bridge” 4. “Scan for network” 5. Enter the passphrase and click on “pick” 6. Close the window 7. Unplug the ethernet cable. It should then reboot.

Also make sure the encryption is the same as your router. I was using WPA on my router but Vera detected it as WPA2. So I just changed my router to WPA2.

I followed those exact steps. I “think” I might have it working, but the wifi light on the vera 2 is NOT on. Should it be? Is there a way that I can confirm that it is truly using the wifi network? I have unplugged the hardwire network cable from vera. The main site still works, the devices work and I’m not getting any kind of “unable to access the internet” messages like I had been. Since the wifi light is not lit up on the vera 2, I’m still not 100% positive it is working. Any thoughts?

The wifi light on my Vera does not light up too. You can go to MiOS and try to log on. If it works then you are connected to the internet. You can try a refresh the page if it comes up then you should be good.
