I’m interested in looking for ways to automate my home. I am accustomed to and comfortable working with IP cameras, networking, etc. But, from what I can gather from my reading so far, in order to use ZWave hardware and a Micasaverde controller, I have to log into a third party website to set up the hardware? Or, can I just enter the IP address and or port number on the LAN and find a web interface for the hardware and make changes? I would prefer to set this up without having to worry about a company going out of business, or a company to start charging to use their website to access my hardware to make changes. Any advice and help would be strongly appreciated.
Yep, the web interface can be accessed directly on your own LAN without MCVs remote server.
Even when we get to the local IP, does it not auto log into the remote one ? They do share the login credentials right (http://cp.mios.com)
nop. i suggest you read a lot of forum posts and after some while come back to put down the questions that where not asked before .
When you first set up your vera and you want to access it remotely, you’ll need to log in to cp.mios.com to associate your account to the vera.
