Can someone assist with a few small issues, perhaps setup related

So I got most things working right except a few small issues, I’m on UI5

  1. If I press the lock button on my Kwickset lock, the system arms. Weird things is my alarm after setting shows armed in additon to
    Vendor Options Special Closing701
    What does that mean

  2. I thought I could setup a scene that locks or unlocks my kwickset with a PIN that I never programmed into the lock. I setup a scene to even turn on the garage lights when I enter a specific digit into the kwickset. What I actually get is red beeping in flashing from the quickset. Appears it only accepts codes that I programmed it with.

  3. One of my scenes with a lock PIN programmed into the lock is supposed to disarm the alarm and turn on the lights. What does it do, unlocks the door only. I checked the advanced tab on the scene and I have the alarm code entered into the command that says “disarm”. I even tried removing the PIN in that field and still does nothing.

  4. I have a Homeseer 3 in 1 z-wave motion. I read about the issues with temp and light but most seem to have the motion working. I setup a scene to turn on lights with motion, sometimes it works, most times it does nothing. The motion red light doesn’t even flash most times.

Appreciate all the help.

  1. The message you see is DSC related, it means that you armed the system with out a pin (this is the same as holding the arm button for two seconds). This is in the DSC manual.

  2. You can only use pins that you either program from the lock itself or from the lock device in Vera.

  3. Click the wrench on the “DSC Alarm Panel” device and click on the advanced tab. Scroll down to where it says “EnableRemoteArm” and enter in the text box “disarm”. This will allow you to disarm the alarm via vera with your pin of course.

  4. Try removing the batteries from the unit. These devices are very quirky (hence the reason I installed an alarm panel to use the more reliable sensors). There are times when the 3 in 1 device will not function and goes into a comma, removing the batteries fixes this for me.

Once the sensor has detected motion, it must first detect no motion for at least the ‘on-time’ (default is 20 minutes?), before it will detect motion again (and thus blink the LED and send a new trigger to Vera). Is that how you tested?

Thanks all, I figured one thing out today, If I setup a scene to do things with a pin entry on the keylock, I think I need that pin entered into vera on the device config, even if the lock hardware was programmed with it. I have done it now and will try it later on.

On the motion sensor, now it makes sense, I did not wait the 20 minutes for motion sensing to kick in again. I will try that also.

thanks
