Hi,
I have just completed installing my new alarm with ev3 and vera lite. All is great, I was just surprised that the most I can do is to send an email, or a text to my cell, but calling only works in eyezon monitoring service. Later, I may do that, but for now I would like to find a way to call my numbers in case the alarm goes off. Am I missing anything? I do not have a land line, I only have a modem to the internet.

That’s all you’ll be able to do with the Envisalink3, but that’s pretty complete. What would calling do that sending a text can’t?
If you set up your Vera to monitor the EVL (there’s a DSC plugin that’ll do this), you can add additional info, such as what zone is open, but that’d require a bit of programming on your part. If you were really insistent on a phone call, you could likely trigger something using a PBX. Vera can invoke outside services via URL.
I use the Push Notification plugin to get notifications when my children use their codes to disarm the alarm.
I have the similar setup as you seem to have (evl3 and vera lite)
I use the veraalerts plug-in and the veraalert app on my android, with this I get all the notifications I need on my android phone…
I get a notification on my phone when a code is entered on the DSC keypad (even as to “who’s” code was used) and of course, more importantly, I get a notification when the alarm blares.
One good thing about this app is that you can use different ringtones for different notification so for example, when the alarm blares, I send me an alert with a very loud tone on my phone, so I can’t miss it.
It’s not a “phone call” but it does get my attention
And I use a silent tone (or much softer tone) when I get “alerted” for someone entering his/her pin on the DSC keypad, because I don’t really want to be distracted by this (so then the app just keeps a log of that, that I can review later, to know at what time my daughter came home

Thanks very much, I will look into it! I really need something that is more attention attracting than a text or an email, which in my world sometimes gets lost (not ideal with a fire or burglar alarm)
