Can I disable cameras with a scene?

I have a second home that I have Vera controlling with locks, thermostat, lights and cameras - Thanks! This is awesome!
My question is this. Once I get there I’d like to shut the interior cameras off with a scene. I see how i can disable the motion sensor and I can obviously control lights - but I don’t see anything that will let a scene disable the camera. Sorry if I’ve missed it, but I’d appreciate it if someone could let me know if this is possible.

On a related not I have scenes with events which turn lights on and off while we’re away. I’d also like a simple way to disable those scenes when I’m there so things aren’t going on and off when I don’t’ want them to. I’d like to think there’s a simple way to do that other than modifying each scene or event, but I haven’t found it. Again any direction would be appreciated.

Why not using Z-Wave appliance modules to switch the cameras on/off?

That’s one idea that would work, Thanks. I’ll use that as a fallback if nothing else comes up. I’d still like to find something that wouldn’t require buying an additional appliance module for each camera though.

In case it matters I have a couple of the Schlage cameras indoors (generic plug-in) and a couple of Panasonic cameras with pan/tilt (Panasonic plug-in) outdoors.

… or connect your cameras to a network switch (or an access point) and hook it up to a Z-Wave appliance module.

Low-tech, but it works. This is what I do. It has the helpful side-effect of rebooting the cameras every so often, which for my model of camera makes them more reliable.

Kind of sounds like a virtual device set-up would be better served for this circumstances (Home / Away) if one could send commands to the camera to turn on/off. Mike
