Can camera motion be used as a trigger?

I saw a similar question here:

but can’t find anything on it. I know you can use camera motion from within the camera device to trigger a recording, but can you get to that to use in setting up a scene?

I think i can do this with Blue Iris plugin, but i have a pretty simple one-time need, so i’m trying to not over engineer it.

You sure can, as long as you have created a motion sensor device for your camera. So far though everything I have seen in this forum shows that motion detection for cameras in Vera works only for Foscam cameras, which I have three of. However my hikvision and Samsung cameras can’t do motion for those.
