Just wanted to get everyone’s thoughts and ideas on where and how they have there cameras placed and what did you guys do for power and so fourth. I just recently bought a Foscam to get my feet wet with setting up some cameras in my home and will eventually get a few more (maybe some different models). I am trying to figure out where to place my first camera in my living room which can see both the foyer, living room, dinning room and parts of the kitchen where the back door is (Open floor plan). Did you guys just mount them in plan view or did you try to hide them to keep them out of site?

my foscam 8918 is sitting on top of a high corner display cabinet in plain view that my wife and son noticed it (didnt tell them). it is in the living room directly monitoring the front door of my house which is situated in the foyer and can pan through the dining room but not the kitchen. it’s plugged in a regular receptacle.
Right now I have it placed on top of the half wall in the living room that is between the main stairs to the entrance and ground level. So it can see most of the first floor and part of the kitchen. But it is very much in plain site. I am not too worried right now, just not sure of exact placement and if I should try to make it less noticeable. This thing is such a nice deal, I just might pick up a few more, or try a few others out.
I have a few scattered in & out of my home. The one that I’ve found to be the most useful is mounted high up underneath the eves on the front corner of the house, facing the porch and walkway. It’s really handy to be able to review the activity in the front yard during the day, for things like package deliveries, etc.
