Hello, I am new here. I just got a Vera 3 set up last night, updated the firmware to 1.5.254, and added four intermatic ca8900’s. All works great except if I change the set temp at the unit, it is never reflected back on the Vera. I have googled for this issue, and even though some people get this to work with polling, others don’t. I seem to fall into this latter camp. Polling is set on the device to 60 seconds (at least, this is what it looks like to me). If I click “Poll Now” on device settings it does not update the display for the set temperature. Does anyone have any suggestions to get this going? For people that have this working, could you please post your vera revision / firmware revision etc?
Thanks!
There is a bug in firmware version 1.5.254 that causes battery operated devices not to poll the data when the device wakes up. This has been fixed in beta builds and a new firmware should be released hopefully soon to the public. I can not verify that this fix works with the ca8900’s, but it does work with my other battery powered devices.
Thanks for the reply! In my case, I am using C wire, and I made sure I was getting power from the C wire by removing the batteries and making sure it still worked when hooked back to the wall (at least one the one thermostat I’ve been doing my testing with). That being said, I did make a backup copy of the original firmware that came on my Vera 3, I might try reverting to that.
Going back to an older firmware will not solve your problem. It is an issue upto the current public release of the firmware.
So, uh, how does one apply to be a beta tester
Just as an update, applied the latest public beta firmware, now it works! I had to delete and re-add each of my thermostats, then redo all the scenes I had set up, but hey, it works now! Again, just to verify that C was present, I tested it with my multimeter and sure enough, going from RH/RC to C gave me 27VAC. So I guess the lesson here is: even 24VAC (or 27VAC as the case may be) powered thermostats can benefit from whatever changes happened in 1.5.322.
Thanks again for all of your help!
