budget thermostat experiences?

I noticed that the front page (getvera.com) has the T-100R on sale for $49 with free shipping. I thought that seemed like a decent deal and then i saw the same one on amazon for $49 with prime shipping. So, is that the normal price or are both of them on sale today? Is that model any good?

I’m looking for a basic zwave thermostat that will function as a thermostat (obviously), but I also want to pull the following info into the vera for scenes and my display panels: current temp, is it heating or cooling, and the desired temp. Can a cheap model like this do that?

I also saw the CT100 Z-Wave Programmable Thermostat for about $80. It looks like it has a lot of great reviews, except it looks like it requires a link to the vera for its programming. Anyone have suggestions or experiences with either of these?

I’ve had the CT100 thermostat installed for about a year, although just purchased and set up my VeraEdge…last night. So, I am very new to this; that said, the pairing process was seamless, and I’m able to see/change the items you mention, as well as relative humidity. I’m not sure what you mean about the link being required, but I don’t have anything special.

Matt

I bought my last TRANE on ebay for 50 to 60.00 You just need to look for deals.
