I live in Germany and next week I will meet with electrician to define plugs/switch for my new flat.
He told me that the standard box does not have enough space for Fibaro In-wall Dimmer/Switch and therefore he will make me a second hole near the primary one so I can install my switch there. Could it be a solution?
I also plan to install 3 light spots with a dimmer. Then can I install a Fibaro dimmer or it is incompatible with the original dimmer?
I live in Germany too and have quite a few fibaro devices installed. There a two kind of boxes: shallow ones and deep ones. With the deep ones you will be fine, the fibaro device will fit behind your switches. Use monostable switches (Taster), this will give you more possibilities (e.g. Double or tripple click).

I had no problem to install the Fibaro’s (plus switches) in standard (40mm deep) in-wall boxes. How deep are the switches you have, if they are deeper than standard switches here in Germany, you could even install deeper in-wall boxes rather than to have two boxes as you mentioned. The Fibaro dimmer is not only for LED’s.
Thanks for the quick reply.
So I should ask for a deeper (“tiefer” in German) box, but I saw that here in Germany (I am not German) the box are rounded/circle, not squared/rectangular like in Italy for example.
To bei clear, the standard box is 40mm deep and have a diameter of 60mm. I’m not sure if your really need a deeper in-wall box (>40mm) to install any of the Fibaros, because the Fibaros are only 17mm deep. First, I would check how deep your switches are and the real depth of your boxes incl. stucco.
I live in Austria, and I think the german boxes are the same as in Austria. I am pretty sure it will be possible to fit in the fibaro relais and dimmers without making other holes. I have fit about 20 of them in my house now , in standard boxes , it is a tight fit , but it works.
Shall I ask particular wires?
I do not know which wires are normally installed in the box here in Germany. For the Fibaro switch I need Live, Neutral and Earth? Are all of them available?
Standard wire will be fine. I use 1,5mm2. You will need L and N for the Fibaro switches, the Fibaro dimmer will even work without N. Quite often in Germany N wires are not available in switchboxes, which means you can’t use the Fibaro switches! What you can do in such a case, you can use the Fibaro dimmer and configure him as a switch.
Yes, but who knows in the future what I will need.
The electrical plant of the flat is not yet started, so maybe I can ask the electrician to put the N wire behide all the switches (or do I it need, maybe, also behind the plugs?)
Brand new flat, at the moment only walls and roof have been built. I met on Tuesday with electrician to decide where to install switches/lights and so on.
I have already 60mm, that’s ok (I do not remember the diameter, I think 60mm).
For wires, standard is L+E, right? Then I will ask to install also N-wire.
Standard today, even for in-wall switch boxes, for plug sockets in general, are L,N and E. Having said that, you will find in elderly houses quit often no N wires in in-wall switch boxes.
