Best way to remove seasonal/temporary devices.

I have about 9 devices I’m using for holiday lights. What’s the best way to handle the removal of the items when the season is over? Exclude or is there a better way? Most are Aeon Labs Energy Monitor Plugs and the wife won’t be happy leaving them hanging around (although it would be good for the network).

If the device isn’t powered on, it’s better to remove it than have Vera trying to poll it, heal it, or route through it.

Yup, the question comes up every year. Discussion here…

I saw that thread, but the question wasn’t really answered. The OP seemed to decide to leave them in place to increase the mesh network. This isn’t an option for me, I just want to make sure I’m excluding them via best practice as not to cause glitches moving forward.

Also, after I remove them, should I run a heal or will the Vera do it automatically?

A heal is advisable whenever you include or exclude a device.

Unless you have changed the settings, heals occur automatically each night.

Thanks, that’s what I rembered
