Best switch (in wall) (US model)

Having acquired most recently a Veraedge, I try to identify what is the best solution to control switch the lights that are found in the walls of every room of my house.

I thought about using the micro switch similar to AEON micro smart dimmer model. Do you have an opinion about it?

Thank you!

My experience you can’t beat the GE/Jasco switches. They are easy to install, easy to config and very reliable. Helps you can get them at Lowes and there is always a coupon around.

The Aeon micro switches have not been my favorite, atleast the ones I had, would not always register the toggle (particularly if you rapidly switch on and off) causing the switch to get out of sync (up was off and down was on) and the same thing happens when you trigger the lights from a scene. Not to mention 3 ways are almost impossible to get right with them.

If you like the toggle style GE/Jasco does make one, and their three way switches are pretty straight forward, and is just a decent all arround Z-Wave switch. If you need direct association or instant status than the Cooper Aspire is my favorite.

Mine is the linear switches. They use the neutral wire, which if you think you may incorporate led bulbs to your house in the future, is a must.

Pretty much every z-wave switch these days requires a neutral and will work will LEDs unless you seek out old two wire ones.

I am testing micro switch (AEON DSC19103-ZWUS). It’s run Correctly.

To replace my X10 switch, I just go in and buy HomeDepot ordinary switch.

My total cost of ownership will be at its lowest.

Take a look at this: Enerwave ZWN-RSM1S on Amazon.com or anywhere else. See if that could be your alternative if you don’t need a dimmer. I’m testing that switch now and I like it. I put/mount in my shed j.box, so I will see how this will work in temp below 32F.

Has anybody tested a Zwaveplus in wall switch ?

I have the Leviton switches which have instant status which is very nice to have. I hesitated on the in-wall micro switches because a lot of my multi-gang boxes were stuffed full of wires already and it seemed like it would be near impossible to fit those in.
