I am about ready get one of these systems to monitor/control a vacation/second home. With whom do you like doing business? I would like the unit, a camera a few lamp controllers, switches and outlets. Also possible a thermostat.

I haven’t seen a "started kit anywhere. What’s your advice.

Several of the vendors offer a starter package with the Vera included. Personally, I recommend ASIHome as the default retailler since they know the products well and have good service. You will find that some places specialize in certain brands/products however so it’s often good to look around a bit before buying.

But as mentioned over different threads, shop at this store with caution - not that they are a scam, just that they are just a bit shabby and careless. Not a very large org. with many customer service reps in my opinion. None the less, you will get what you order…just some heartburn in the process 8). Be ready to receive wrong quantities and order the first time.
