Best dimmable light that WORKS with Z-wave dimmer - Found One :)

  1. So I’ve experimented with CFL’s that are capable of dimming - but No Luck.

  2. Philips LED dimmables (very expensive) works awesome…I’m very impressed. With the lights I’ve tested, the philips LED throws out a much even lighting than anything else I’ve tested.

  1. So I’ve 5 of these on a chandelier and they’re capable of dimming all the way to the least setting

I’ve found that the $9.99 Ecosense LED bulbs from Home Depot dim nicely, although in my environment, I’m using 4 in tandem in overhead lighting, not sure if the load size has something to do with it.

The Earthbulb dimmable CFLs that are on clearance at Radio Shack also work with dimmers, although with most CFLs fine control is not the greatest. They don’t flicker unless you dim them down to very low levels.

I use GE dimmer switches.

@waxhell - I almost got few of these - However the ones you were referring were putting out “bright white” or “white” light -

The Philips one were putting out a “soft white” (more yellowish tint) that is more like an incandescent light…

Could you please confirm what is the color of light output? Thanks

BTW - I was surprised when I opened the pack…these lights do weigh “much” heavier than an incandescent or CFL…

They put out 3000k, which is bright white. I prefer bright white or even cool white as opposed to warm white due to my relatively dark walls. I had used these LEDs to replace 50W halogen PAR20 floods and they put out almost as much light and brighten up my bedroom much more (especially when dimmed).

Lighting was very even when used in overhead PAR20 recessed lighting fixtures (no reflectors in the recessed lighting fixtures).
