Best Battery Powered Thermostat

Hello,

I am looking to see what everyone recommends for a good battery powered thermostat? I currently have a CT-30 and have nothing but problems with it.

I require a battery powered unit as this is for a gas millivolt fireplace system. The CT-30 is fine when it works but I get nothing but polling issues and incorrect data. Is there a thermostat that is reliable for what I need?

I don’t need any fancy features as I just use it to control the heat and report the temperature. Simple and reliable is what I am looking for.

Thanks!

The problem is BEST and BATTERY Powered don’t really go together. Do you run normally run the fireplace based on temp and have it auto kick on and off? I have mine set to a on/off switch only and never thought about having an open flame lite without me around.

Thanks for your response. Yes I run the fireplace based on temp as this is the primary heat for my remote cabin.

I use a battery CT100 with a 24V power adapter (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0071IWJ7G?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=od_aui_detailpages02), the cable runs about 25 feet from the nearest outlet, it reverts to battery during our frequent outages!
The gas fireplace is the primary heat for the cabin and works great.

Agreed on the power adapter - I run an Ecobee on this adapter plugged into a UPS (http://www.amazon.com/Revo-RE2440TF-24V-40VA-Transformer/dp/B008YHZY2A/ref=sr_1_cc_1?s=aps&ie=UTF8&qid=1452027598&sr=1-1-catcorr&keywords=revo+transformer)

A good setup.

I think these guys have you covered with the best option! Battery powered and sleeping with slow polling is a common thing used to control battery power consumption.

Power Adapters would work or I’m sure your millivolt system already has a transformer and low voltage of some sort that may be utilized.

Thank you for your opinion everyone!
