Has anyone connected Vera to an Axis 240Q or similar 4 port video server? my project involved connecting 2-3 outdoor cameras and instead of buying 3 $300-400 ip cameras, using more conventional analog cameras with a $475 network video server seems to make more sense.

I searched the wiki and around the net, and I thought i would ask to see if anyone has tried it yet, before I put out the cash.

How much are cameras that work with it?

it interfaces with analog security cameras, I just purchased a videosecur camera from amazon for like $75 to connect to it. it was weather resistant, vandal resistant (no exposed wire or screws) and does switch to black and white and finally to IR when needed. i just finished installing it, the video server hooked up as a generic ip camera without issue.

I just wish I could take an image more often than once a minute, without some sort of other trigger. Fortunately, the axis has motion detection embedded. with all the options to set it up, it’ll take me a while to get it tweaked.
