I have EZmotion 3n1 motion detector. I have 3 scenes: 1) ARM - this simply sets the device to ARM by a timer in the morning, 2) DISARM - simply sets the device to BYPASS by timer in the afternoon, 3) MOTION DETECTED - This turns on all lights, a siren, and notification by an event when “An armed sensor is tripped”. I have a 12v car alarm wired to a 12v power wall wart that is plugged into a Zwave lamp module. The hook up works great.
It must set the Tripped flag when you run the scene ARM manually, cause it runs instantaneously the MOTION DETECTED scene. It does stay armed because my daughter has came home and set it off. However, it works fine when ARMED by timer.
I would like to get it where I can arm by key fob and my remote control as part of the my night mode scene.
My goal is to have it ARM manually without setting it off. Any ideas? I don’t have any LUA scripting experience yet.
What is happening is that the motion sensor detects motion before you Arm it. It has a time duration where it still indicates motion. If it is still indicating motion (the man on the dashboard is running) when it is armed, then it will cause the scene to be run. You might want to arm the motion sensor after a delay.
You can create the Scene with some built in delays.
My “Lockdown” scene turns off lights, TV outlet, sets Thermo, etc. and has the following setting for the Motion Sensors when the scene runs:
Motions Sensor [Unchanged], After 5 Minutes [Arm].
Solves for the “motion sensor is still in a tripped state” issue.
.//A.
I do it the same way as Anthonyris, just make sure your delay is long enough, the 3-in-1 sensor (if I remember correctly) has a default delay of 20 minutes
I guess that is the only way. I was playing with the delays one day. I think I shortened mine to either 5 or 10 minutes. I am thinking about using a power adapter which, I think, will allow you to change to immediate update.
BTW, I am looking at the Trane thermostat. I was wanting a thermo that will run as stand alone but can be overridden with zwave. Will Trane accomplish this? I heard that 2gig is either one way or the other.
