Apps on Vera

HI,

Is there a threshold where vera lite does not like more than X number of apps installed on a single vera lite without problems?

I have 2 vera lite units, 3 when Vera Pro comes out. I would like to know if the experts are load balancing apps across their units.

Thanks

Nope not a number. Same goes for devices. Certain plugins eat up more RAM then others. One bad Apple can cause more problems then 10 good ones.

integlikewhoa,

I had a bad experience with the HUE app mixed with others, so I moved it to my secondary unit, and my anomalies seemed to stop.

The Ramp up app does not appear to like to be called from another vera. ( all devices appear in both interfaces, UPNP)

I’ll just go ahead and install it on the main vera.

Thanks.

You can’t use very many plugins on a Vera Lite on UI7 … Vera 3 and Vera Edge should be fine.
With ANY devices or plugins on a Vera Lite on UI7 … I think it’s already using more than 50% maybe even as much as 70% of the available memory.
Cut those numbers in half for a Vera 3 or Vera Edge.

NOTE: That Z-Wave devices and Scenes do not use a lot of memory … So if you stay away from plugins … and use LUA/Scenes … a Vera Lite can quite efficient.
