Please give me your two cents on it…basically I need something that I can set to turn on and off z-wave lights via the timer while I am away from the house. I am willing to sacrifice web access with reliability. Specifically this one: Leviton RZCPG-SG/VRCPG-0SG Vizia RF Z-Wave Programmer / Timer

If you know of non-vera controllers that function as timers I would like to know of those as well.

I have an older upgraded vera, and it’s unreliable, past two vacations I went on it crapped out on me and left lights on all day. After numerous bug tickets/service calls that went unanswered I am not about to spend any more coin with a 2nd vera.

The Leviton VRCPG-SG Vizia RF+ Z-Wave Remote Control with Timers is a solid remote - make sure that you get a VRCPG-SG as it is firmware upgradeable the RZCPG-SG is not

AFAIK, they can all be upgraded.
My RZCPG - manufactured, 4th week August 2007, I upgraded to A2.5.2 / Z-Wave 2.0.6 / Feb 4 2010 / x36. (My VRCPG is running the same firmware.)

Let me get this right…

This is a timer/controller, so I can set it to turn light x on at 1800 light y at 2200, etc???
