Anyone use the free 'Vera Mobile' iPhone app by SQnP?

I’m new to the Vera (3) world and was looking for an app for my iPhone and came across ‘Vera Mobile’ but some company called SQnP. It was free so I installed it.

It works with my door lock, light module and Trane thermostat. It won’t show my 2 Foscam cameras.

Anyone else using this app?

I just found this app by going to http://mios.com/phone (which was referenced in UI5).

I usually use MO so I tried the new link, and they link you to a few native iPhone apps.

I downloaded Vera Mobile, but all I get is a black screen for several seconds, and then is quits. Does it only work locally, and not over the remote connection (I am at work now and can’t test it).

I usually use SQRemoteHD, but sometimes the startup time can be trouble when all I want to do is turn a light on/off. The mobile UI can be faster. And when at home, I have links to each room, so I can get to the desired item faster.

Start up time is pretty fast and I have not tested it non-locally.

I’m using it. Works fairly well with the exception of my thermostat. Having difficulity getting the temp to change or changing modes.

I tried it on a Blackberry. The Blackberry specific area is not available. The Web version seems to work ok. I would not say great but ok on a Blackberry.

Does anyone have any experience with this new app and if it works with Vera?!?

I use VERA MOBILE. It works OK, except as noted above, you cannot change temperature settings, you can just look at them.

Also, you cannot sort your SCENES alphabetically or categorize them except by making up ROOMS for your scenes.

All in all, I would give it a 3 out of 5 stars.

Hi I also using VeraMobile. All works find, respond is fast from internet. but could not display my Foscam camera as well. anyone got a solution for this?

There seem to be 2 VeraMobile apps in the iPhone app store. One has a house as an icon, the other a green leaf. Both appear to be identical in UI and function.

Anybody able to tell me which of these is the ‘real’ VeraMobile app?

Both work fine on my iPhone. modules, locks and Tstat. I have no camera’s or sensors so I cannot comment on those.

I had been using this App (House icon - Veramobile, not the green leaf iVera Free) and it worked well for my limited setup. Just added Vera/Zwave to my INDIGO/INSTEON setup so pretty new to Vera/Zwave.

As of a couple of days ago I can no longer connect whether on local network or from outside.

Have tried refresh/login, etc. but still no joy.

Any suggestions appreciated.

Browser login, inside or out, works, no problem.
iVera Free works but I’m not quite ready to buy the full version to get all my devices.

Delete the app from your iDevice. Then reboot your iDevice to clear all caches.
Install the app (either house or leaf icon one) and see if you can connect properly again.
If whichever one you installed does not work, install the other one and see if that one does.
I have both installed on my 4S and they seem to co-exist fine.

Thanks for the suggestions.

Neither app works on my iPhone 4.

Errors with “Unable to connect, trying another engine.”
Does that a couple of times.

Same symptom on iPad. Going to try it on a 3G next.
Of course just a few days ago it worked fine and the only diff is that I used it in California a few times and when I got back to my own network, doesn’t work/connect.

I’m stumped. Both work on my 4S and 3GS just fine. It not working on multiple devices almost sounds liike a profile issue on whatever server it’s connecting to.

The weird part is that it worked until I went outside my own LAN.
I went to California and was showing it off :slight_smile:
That’ll teach me.

But even outside my LAN it doesn’t work now. Maybe it needs California.

Taking a rest and then I’ll attack it again :slight_smile:

Have you checked your Vera Net setup?
When logged into your vera via MIOS.com
SETUP tab → Net and WiFi sub tab.

Does at the top it state in green ‘Internet access is OK’?
Is ‘Autodetect devices on my network’ checked?
What is the setting for ‘How does vera connect to the internet’? Automatically?

Worst case you could try the ‘Troubleshoot network’ and ‘reboot’ buttons on that page. :slight_smile:

Same problem here … >:(

the first time I used it, it was about 6 months ago or something and it was working well (very fast access).
It was working well until about 2 or 3 months ago … Till then i have the same message with the red broken arrow “Unable to connect, trying another engine.”.

What is an engine here ?
And why is it not working anymore ???

Too bad, it was a very good and free alternative to iVera which is wayyyyyyyyyyyyy too expensive (24€ in Europe) :((
