Anyone familiar with 'The Thing System'

I was searching the net based on a thread posted in regards to controlling a mini-split and found this.

Regardless, looked interesting … Just curious if anyone has tested this so called ‘Thing’ in contrast to Vera.

Haven’t tested but interesting. I enjoy open source but with no coding skills I’m stuck relying a lot on the creators or someone else to keep adding functionality but good find.

My complaint is the need for an intermediary or management protocol (so to speak) between these devices. I really respect individuals who think outside the box and create these types of solutions - for example take a look at openHAB and what the developers on this forum are doing to interconnect that solution with the MV appliance.
