Any one used CO/Smoke detector as a siren?

Hi all,
Just got started with HA and am looking at laying out a Roadmap for future and am identifying the components I need to get. In this connection, I was wondering if anyone has used or knows if the Z-Wave CO/Smoke detector can be used as a home security siren?
Basically triggered to go off upon a set event like a door window sensor being triggered? If yes, i am wondering if we can set two different tones so you know one is for Home security concern and one for CO/Smoke concern.

Appreciate your insight.

BTW, I am still in planning. I want to plan and then go about setting these up. Just go myself a Vera Plus.

Hi SN. I use both the First Alert Zcombo and teh Vision smoke detector and separate CO detector and I have also heard about the Nest Protect. No. None of them allow that. There are a number of seperate sirens available. The Go Control also has a strobe light.

Thanks Marc. I was trying to see if we can use some of the existing functionality and have one less device. I guess I will have to get the CO/Smoke detectors and Siren separately.

Battery powered devices like smoke detectors don’t normally listen to the network. Sirens are special devices with big batteries (like 4 C cells) that do listen.

The battery sirens are very loud, and few houses need more than one. My siren is set to low and in a closet. I use Hue bulbs to indicate the alarm type. Ot at least I did until UI7 broke scene color changes in Hue.
