Another Foscam question F19803EP

Anybody got the Foscam F19803EP ? Got one this week the IP Camera .exe file that comes from Foscam would not find the camera at all, had to find it by looking for it’s IP address in my router. So far got it so I can see it using a browser having opened the port it uses. Installed the Vera app for it but it cannot find a camera and doesn’t create any camera device to modify , played a few hours so far and not got anywhere , probably should have bought a different Foscam. If anybody has the same cam would like to know if you have got it working with Vera.

Vera Lite and Firmware 1.5.672.

Got a bit further after a dozen or so attempts, have managed to get Vera to add a Camera device by telling it to use my external IP address and port the camera is on, by using add a camera device manually. Now stuck with the " camera URL is invalid" read most of the threads on the subject, but still cannot find the correct URL to get the camera to return an image. Following is the last URL I tried http//...:88/snapshot.cgi?user=&pwd=*, the * have my relevant information filled in, have tried it with various quantity of " / " as that seemed to be one way people got it working.

Spent another night trying different URL’s to get the camera to return a photo, changed ports etc etc finally got the camera to return an image if I use this in a browser http://86.134..:3480/cgi-bin/CGIProxy.fcgi?cmd=snapPicture2&usr=&pwd=. If I use my internal IP address it fails, but still could not get it to respond in vera. One good thing about buying a Camera from Amazon UK is I can pack it back in the box and send it back… so I have done, need to sit and have a re-think, if I want to have Vera talk to cameras at all, as it seems it’s too fussy about what it will or won’t talk to reading all the posts on here, also think I will look at a better quality camera, and one that doesn’t require a 30mm+ hole drilling through my walls to pass the stupid connectors through, or mounting an external waterproof ugly box to curl up all the excess wires in and make a connection that way.

Hey David, I bought the 19804p and have a similar problem. I set the port to 80 and had the same problem as I do on port 88, I have three other foscam all different models that worked without any effort. The dilemma however is that this model though cheaper is better than the other $200 models I bought. The night image is cleaner and clearer which is what prevented me from exchanging it, plus the fact that I have a Samsung smart cam that does not work with Vera, and a hikivision camera that I can’t use the motion. I purchased BlueIris software that connects all my 6 cameras, and Vera does have a plugin for blue iris.
