Awesome work, thanks for everything you’re doing. I’m using this with my Whole House announcements and this LAN/WIFI settign will make it even better.

Can you explain how to send over network from Vera, or another device by chance? if you can provide an example with formatting that would be a great help.

Thanks again.

When will it hit the market?

A couple of hours … I forgot to hit the save button after activating the new version yesterday.

Click on the link you quoted and look under usage for an example.

Oh! The suspense is killing me! I’m getting the Mrs. to record sexy messages to be spoken to me. Much better than TTS.

@baxy_AU
The Web docs shows some LUA code for sending to LAN Port of the Android Phone.
The format of the message (i.e. the options) are the same as the Vera Plugin.

I will be releasing a new Vera Alerts Plugin that will talk to the LAN port directly in the next few days.

@S-F
Also great if you need to yell at your kids or your dogs remotely.
How about your mom to nag you to turn off the lights or close the door :slight_smile:

Not to be a pest, but… it still doesn’t seem to be up on the market. Not that it matters much to me any way. I’m going to bed soon and have to work in the morning so I don’t even really have time to play :frowning:

I’m unable to get the new version too. The store shows version 2.4, but my phone still has 2.3 and I don’t get an option to upgrade. I’m getting upgrades for other apps, so it appears to be limited to Vera Alerts.

The store version is still 2.3

Sorry … I saved again … and noticed it wanted me to agree to some terms … I did not do that last time.

@Richard

Just tried to update to 2.4 from the market. Update went ok but when I open the App it says “Unfortunately, Vera Alerts has stopped.” Tried to reboot phone, no joy. Version 2.3 was working fine before the upgrade. Nexus S phone.
Any ideas ?

Oops … if you have no saved data it has a problem starting … move up to version 2.5.
Just released.

“… move up to version 2.5.”

Ok will do. Thanks much !

RTS. You rock! I’m getting Vera to make all kinds of noises at me! We are in your debt. MCV is in your debt! This is something they should have handled years ago. They should give you a stipend of some kind for all you hard work.

Is there a trick to naming your sound files? I can name one just fine but when I move on to more the editor chokes. I just tried to name a third and I could type one letter and then it would also add it to the first sound’s name while also removing all but the first letter from it. I struggled with it for a while then Vera Alerts crashed.

What is the purpose of “Remote Access” under Settings? There are fields for Vera user ID, unit ID, and password.

Thanks.
