Amcrest IP2M-841B/VeraPlus/Firmware 1.7.2608

Just upgraded from a Veralite to a VeraPlus and purchased a new Amcrest IP2M-841b. Would like to connect this camera to my VeraPlus so I can send the camera commands or to set alarms when events occur, such as a door sensor being tripped. MANY hours of trying everything in these forums to get this camera connected with no luck. I have a working http link from the camera to generate snapshots. However, I can’t get past the “test” when adding the camera. At this point, I am getting an endless loop of “Authentication Required” messages and can’t add the camera. Buyer’s remorse is setting in for upgrading my Veralite as well as the camera purchase.

As an aside, I have a Synology NAS with Surveillance Center–it works well but I can’t get the app to work to connect to my Vera. One other item–I am on the beta program and have successfully connected my VeraPlus to my Amazon Echo Dot.

Does anyone have any idea what I need to do to get this camera to work with my VeraPlus? Is the Echo Dot holding me back? I was able to get my Veralite to so everything I needed it to do including several PLEGS and I’ve owned a Vera product since 2013 so I am not completely new to this. Any ideas?

I prefer using Blue Iris, with its plug-in.

Blue Iris is definitely an option but would prefer not to tie up a computer. I have a trial version installed and will play around with it some more. Wish it ran on my NAS . . .

You could try this: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00X4O6GRK/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1. I bought one in 2015 to run my Plex server. Worked fine but now I run Plex on my new NAS. Blue Iris can be set up to record your video to the NAS.

Intriguing. Thank you.

@Rsjr I have the exact same issue when adding an Amcrest camera. I tried multiple browsers too. Did you ever find a solution?
