Amazon Alexa Home Skill Update (official newsletter)

yeah it’s broken. I used the skill not more than an hour ago, now the skill is gone from Alexa and I cannot get it to populate the beta skill. They have something going on.

(and yes I did click on the newsletter link as well)

Also, people using the old link from the old email were probably doing so out of desperation, like I did: the links in this thread aren’t working either so they tried the old links.

Mine was working, I did not change or do anything so it has to be something on their end.

I was using Martin’s for quite some time with no disruptions and now that Vera picked it up, failure. It’s not the end of the world but it was part of my daily routine now.

Confirmed {“message”:null} now received after having good, working implementation. All vera devices in Alexa skill are marked as “offline”.

I suppose MCV is working on something.

Half of my devices can no longer be found, despite re-doing the discovery process multiple times (all are found), reinstalling the Vera app, re-connecting the account, etc… Some work, some are “unrecognized devices”, no rhyme or reason to it.

Vera unnistalled the Alexa Helper, all on its own… classic vera!

Then I clicked the USA link I get this error not… where I was NOT getting this error prior – though I was having other issue preventing it from working.

Par for the course - Vera’s an executive 9 hole where every hole is in the middle of a sand trap and the tee box is under water; really, not a joke pretty much a literal equivalent

I have a variation of the same null problem. The first time the newsletter linked worked but despite checking multiple zwave devices, only my Hue devices were discovered. Waited a couple of hours hoping for a positive change but instead the skill is no longer on my alexa app even though earlier today I had removed as instructed and then successfully re-installed. Trying a third time is impossible because the correct link gets me to a null page. A note about what’s going on would be hopeful.

Not exactly a simple html link although it may have started like that. It seems the software getvera uses to maintain the mailinglist modifies that URL into something far less simple. Please see below what I extracted from the email sent to me with the update info in it. (changed values for u, id and e to protect my privacy) Which initially pushed me to the Amazon side rather than the Getvera side of the plugin.

Link not working “null” error

I’m also getting the “null” error. Link is unusable.

getting message : null on both the newsletter links and the links in this forum (US)
and when i went to alexa today, (because she wouldn’t turn on the lights, said she couldn’t find them)
i saw the vera skill was gone (it was there yesterday)
came here to use the links and got the NULL message.

Did you all get that email that starts with…
"Welcome to the Vera test team… You have been chosen to do the first line of testing for our software. We’ve not done any testing on this so we appreciate the help you providing. "

Confirmed. Skill is gone from my Alexa smart home page and all my devices are offline…

Not sure if this is related but it looks like AWS is having some issues again today. I’m wondering if that may be a contributing factor.

Vera support is clueless… I reported the skill missing this morning. They said, it will appear when the plugin is installed in your vera… Now they just invent bs answers

Same here. Everything worked well yesterday but now :frowning:

Adding another “same here” skill gone again, problems with the n east networks, may contribute (or not…)

Using Safari in MacOS, I clicked the down arrow on the US link button and could see a preview of the Amazon Alexa login page. When I clicked the link to open it, I get the same Message:Null that others are getting.
