Always getting... Error Getting Status & Error Restoring Comments

This just started happening on my largest (very large) PLEG device.

  • None of the items have comments
  • when clicking on ‘Report’ every single Condition throws ‘Error Getting Status’ message

Happens in FireFox 36 & IE 11

any ideas how to fix?

no help?

Did you try to restore from Backup ?

One of my PLEG devices will not backup… throws “Command Failed” … the other backs up fine (I see it in /etc/cmh-ludl)

I meant did you restore Vera to a backup when they were working …

I “fixed” the error messages when getting Status/Reports

  • there were not comments in that PLEG device, and nothing looked wrong so… I added a few comments and that somehow fixed the issue. I then removed those comments and all still seems OK, no errors at all.

I still cannot backup that onePLEG device? I went back a month and still get the problem. If I go back anymore I’m not sure what I will lose on some of my regular (non-pleg) scenes and such.

Is there any way to export the PLEG device or figure out what is broken?

Sounds like some how you entered some illegal data into the “Comments” data structure.
This can happen if you play around with the ADVANCED tab and accidentally enter some data in one of the fields.
Sounds like another field might be corrupted.
What’s the current error ?
Can you find it referenced somewhere in the Status report ?

I no longer get errors related to Restoring Comments - (not messed with anything on the Advanced tab in a year so it could not have been that)

Backup Error only occurs when trying to do a Backup from the PLEG device itself, and only on one of my PLEGs - the other PLEG device is fine.

Status report attached.

Richard, just an FYI on how I fixed the problem with Backups failing…

  1. In the ‘corrupt’ PLEG device: Open Advanced Tab and copied ALL data to a text file

  2. Created a new PLEG device and copied all data from text file into new PLEG device.

  • this does not “work” by default but it allowed me to do the next steps
  1. Backup NEW PLEG device

  2. Rename the new Backup file to the ‘corrupt’ PLEG device’s name

  3. Open the ‘corrupt’ PLEG device and use the RESTORE to restore the device

… I no longer have the problem with ANY of the errors and the Backup works again.
