All my devices are gone

I’ve used my Vera2 in my vacation home for a couple of years now and, for the most part, have not had trouble. Returned this weekend to find all the devices have been deleted. My sections, rooms and scenes are still showing on the interface but no devices. The scenes don’t work, of course. I tried to re-sync devices but that didn’t work. I’ve tried to restore the program from a back-up, but no help. I’ve tried everything I can think of - twice or more. does anybody have a clue?

I woudl suggest to contact MiCasaverde support (providing that Vera is online) as they may be able to fix it I recall something about a setting or variable that defines your ‘home network’ which may have gone awry. MCV Support has a way to fix that.

When you did a restore, did you check restore zwave dongle?

same thing happened to me today. everything worked fine until yesterday.
this looks like someone found an exploit in certain micasaverde systems and could be systematically taking advantage of it.

I got a mcv2, using UI4, firmware 1.1.1245, which is supposed to be the latest available.

What makes you think that ‘someone is systematically taking advantage of an exploit’? Do you have any specific indications or evidence that this might be the case?

A few old Vera’s losing their configurations for reasons that are inexplicable, by relatively inexperienced owners, does not indicate anything nefarious, systematic, or widespread.

I contacted vera support and the rep asked me to restore the “Restore Dongle Firmware” box checked. This did the trick for me.

Is that a real question? This is the internet. If people can break into systems and disrupt function, they will… at any rate, that was not the issue, for some reason i had to restore the settings from back checking the “Restore Dongle Firmware” option checked. Vera support was awesome!
