After upgrading to v1.7.961, Danfoss thermostate (LC-13) never wakes up!!

Before upgrading the firmware to v1.7.961 I had the problem that my thermostates was in a “Can’t detect Device” state until I manually waked them up (pushing the button on the thermostate), where after they would change the temperature (if fx. a scene was started).

Now - after upgrading to v1.7.961, they never wake up - according to VeraEdge; even if I push the button, they keep “Waiting for wakeup to send commands”!
I have tried to include a thermostate from a factory reset, but it does not make any difference.

Anyone aware of this is the normal experience after upgrading or if there are some workaround - I have not been able to use the VeraEdge to any usefull (unless struggling is usefull) after buying it >:(

TIA
Henrik

Hi Hendrik,

I’ve got the same problem with Danfoss LC-13. Before the update of 20th of December, they were working fine. After that, they “can’t detect issue” and now “waiting to wake up” and then, the dashboard says “2 devices are no longer connected”.

I’ve reported this bug, but Vera Support didn’t come back to me with a solutions.

I want the firmware before 20th of December back (although it had other problems).

I have same problem with some StellaZ and other battery devices. And they may change their status to other (like a motion sensor) sometimes.

Maybe this issue is connected with this information from release notes:

We have made significant improvements in how Vera handles battery operated devices. This update requires that these devices be reconfigured in order to take advantage of these changes. Most sensors will reconfigure automatically within 30 to 90 minutes of completing the software upgrade.

In the event a sensor does not automatically reconfigure within this timeframe, you can manually reconfigure them by pressing the ?Configure node right now? button, or removing and reinstalling the battery in the device.

Try to configure node again and see what will happen.

Hello,

I talked to support regarding my issue, and after investigating my Edge they acknowledged that there is a problem and has forwarded the issue to Development.

Part of testing was re-configuring the Danfoss valve - even doing factory resetting of the valve didn’t help.

A comment; support was fast and easy to get in touch with and max 12 hours after the initial contact I received the confirmation & info regarding the issue being passed on to Development.

I hope you get a resolution soon. It’s likely to be a while though.

i have the same issues. answered also in another thread. Software support was easy to get in contact with (was before the software update) and they told me to wait for the update as this would fix the issue. after the software update i had some more contact with support and providing them my logs for review. after that it went silent with a " we’ve reported this to our development team".

so hopefully a quick fix

same for me and Veraedge 1.7.691 but with Danfoss LC 12. I wrote to support team.

Just an update,

Still haven’t heard anything from Development, so I contacted support regarding my problem.
They suggested that I downgraded the controller to version 1.7.850 and then did an exclude followed by an include for each Danfoss thermostat.
This is not long terem solution but the Danfoss thermostates are working now.
But now it seems that Home / Away / Night / Vacation on the dashboard is doing nothing (with the thermostates activated on those buttons).

Hi Hendrik,

How did you manage to downgrade your firmware?

Below is the procedure for downgrading to the version, that can contact the Danfoss thermostates on wakeup -but there are some other problems: Dashboard buttoms (Home/Away/Night/Vacation) has no effect when pushed. Likewise I experienced that scenes can get in a state where a timer Schedule can’t be (re-) activated - like it ghas changed to manual and the end is delete & re-create the scene again. SOmetime spooky temoeratures are also seen on the device list (seems to have no impact trhough).

Also be aware that you have to exclude & include the devices Again - but I had to; otherwise the controller was at absolutely no use at all!

In order to downgrade please create a backup first from Settings → Backup → Create Backup: Select Upload Backup on Server, then click Backup Z-Wave Network first, wait for the backup to complete and then click on Create Backup. Please save that file on your computer.
Next go to Settings → Firmware and paste this link in the ?URL for custom Vera firmware? box: http://builder1204.mios.com/mt7620a_betafirmware/mt7620a_Luup_ui7-1.7.850-en-mios.squashfs
Click Upgrade, then Start Upgrade. This process may take up to 15 minutes and once all the lights are solid on the unit you can refresh the page and check your Danfoss devices.

FWIW: From support after investigating my Edge:

I?ve checked the logs on the unit and it seems there are some communication issues between the Vera controller and the Danfoss radiator valves. I forwarded this issue to our development team so it can be fixed in a future firmware upgrade. The issue has been assigned internal tracking code VUI-3388. You can check our release notes here: http://support.getvera.com/customer/portal/topics/666697-release-notes/articles to see if the issue is fixed when a new firmware version is released.

Same email from support for me…

Hi Marc Shenker,

for this type of problem when (in my opinion) is very important to resolve quickly the issue is not possible to plan a specific fix without waiting the periodic firmware release ?

This type of errors may compromise important funtionality above all if the installation of VeraEdge is at a client site.

Seems like anyone having these problems, is receiving the same e-mail (me too!).

I have had my vera for approx. 2 months - in that period it has been useless, I can’t control my thermostates (/battery units!?).

Same problem.
To solve it you have to change the wake up interval in settings.
I change it to 60 and it works better.
Well it’s not in real time but it works…
