Aeotec Micro Dimmer

I have recently been playing with the Aeotec Micro Dimmer and Micro Switch. These are great for my ability to read wattage and keep aesthetics consistent. I am trying to move to these switches throughout my house. I am also trying to use one as a remote switch for a different circuit. In other words, I want when this switch is flipped to initiate turning on another a switch. In order for that to work the switch must report instant status. It does report instant wattage measurements, but doesn’t report status. When I emailed Aeotec Support the responded with this:

For the micro dimmer or switch, there is a setting to allow the micro to output a report every time there is a manual switch.

Please make this parameter change: Parameter 80 [1 byte dec]: 1

This will allow the micro report its state change when it has been changed via external switch.

Let me know if this works for you

Any idea how to do this? Thanks so much. I realize that Leviton has the patent for instant status. Is there a work around?

After further emails with Tech Service (they have been extremely helpful thus far), the change is relatively simplistic. These switches now show status as quickly as the Levitons.

This only speeds up the reporting right? There isn’t actually a notification that is for the external switch right?

Yes, it just reports in about .5 second. I am using this as a virtual switch to switch a remote circuit.
