I’ve got one switch (among about 30 of them) that is reporting excessive wattage for a ceiling fan. The same fan on the same controller in another room reports 30 watts on medium speed. This particular switch is reporting 560 watts when on the same speed - and 1 watt when off.
I’ve excluded and included it several times, but the results are the same.
I remember having this issue before on with the same (model) switch and a fluorescent fixture, and ex/including it fixed it.
Are there any other things I can check other than sending an email to AL?
Well, nearly two years later, and no offers for help. Makes me think I’m the only one experiencing this issue.
That same switch on the same (90 watt) ceiling fan is now reporting 4500 watts when on, 0 when off. I have a second switch, powering a 4’ fluorescent light fixture (40 watt) that is showing -0.1 watts when on, and 3600 watts when off.
Both switches operate just fine in terms of controls. But they are wreaking havoc on my energy consumption reports.
I contacted Aeon support (Christopher Cheng), who provided me with three parameters (101-103, set to 4 bid dec, value 0) to turn off power reporting, but that has not worked.
Quite frustrating, as I’ll have to replace perfectly functional switches just to get my energy reporting unbuggered.
I don’t know. Part of the reason I’ve reached out to AL and the forum is because I wanted to avoid having to pull the switches out. They’re really cramped making the un/install a challenge.
I suspect it is the AL, not the load, simply because the fluorescent light switch shows load when it’s off and negative load when it’s on. Unless the load is able to influence the power meter when it’s de-energized, I don’t see how it could be the load.
