Aeon 4in1 Motion sensor - update interval

Hi,

I have 4 Aeon 4in1 Motion Sensor, and managed to get it to work with the Beta firmware from MCV.

I can see 4 sensors showed up, and the motion detector works fine.

However i was not able to reduce the update time for the humid, light sensor, and temparature sensor.

i have the parameter set as below:

111 = 180
112 = 180
113 = 180

the rest is default.

what else I have missed?

I’m sure someone will correct me if I am mistaken but I believe the polling interval for all the sensors is controlled by the motion sensor which is the parent device. When on battery power the wakeup interval is also a factor. When on USB power, I believe the wakeup interval setting is irrelevant and the device is always awake but people are reporting issues with the sensors not updating unless you explicity “poll now” (the motion sensor) or issue a command via a luup script.

Yes I know that. that is why I am changing the device itself parameter. I am not quite sure if I done correctly or is it because of the Vera still in beta version. But below is the parameter I have configured but without luck it does not update as suppose to.

i have the parameter set as below:

111 = 180
112 = 180
113 = 180

If any one know how to perform it. thanks

@woodchild,

Could you post the [tt]Capabilities[/tt] string from the [tt]Settings[/tt] tab of the USB-powered 4-in-1?

Hi oTi@,

the capabilities is as below

82,156,0,4,32,1,R,B,RS,|48,49:5,112,114,128,132:2,133,134,

Thanks. Did you originally include the device while on batteries and then hooked it up to USB, or did you include the device while on USB power?

I am using battery all the while…never use the USB before.

OK; well, in that case your findings may be consistent with mine:
You can have the temperature, humidity and light level report autonomously, and at different intervals. So you can have, say:

 • Report motion with a timeout of 5 seconds.
 • Report light level every 10 seconds.
 • Report humidity every 20 seconds.
 • Report temperature every 30 seconds.

However, it appears the autonomous reporting of the latter three only works when USB powered.
so there is no solution for it as of now?

the 3 (light, humid, temp) still update but the update interval is long enough that I can’t tell. definetely more then 30 minutes.

That was just an observation I made; I don’t know if it is a bug or a feature. Obviously, the rates I mentioned (10/20/30 seconds) are only useful when USB-powered, or you would drain the batteries quickly. Perhaps there is a minimum to it for battery operation. I haven’t investigated. Would really be nice if manufacturers provided complete documentation with their products.

So for battery-powered sensors, the updates rely on the wake-up mechanism. What is your wake-up interval set to, and what is the minimum poll interval set to?

I have no idea on the parameters. hopefully you can share with me.

currently i have below parameter set

parameter 3 - 300
parameter 111 - 180
parameter 112 - 180
parameter 113 - 180
