I have the SQBlaster, and installed the plugin from code.mios.com
I went to add my Samsung TV. All I need is On & Off, since everything else is handled by the receiver.
I found a set of codes that works, and when I clicked “Use this model” is downloaded a plugin for an Elk Alarm Panel. Thinking I did something wrong, I deleted the panel, and tried it again. This time, I chose a different set of IR codes (I think), and it downloaded a plugin for “Texas Instruments eZ430-Chronos Wireless Watch”
Certainly not what I want!! Any ideas??
I followed this route in UI5:
Devices → Add device → Add IR device → chose the blaster from the drop down → then TV, Samsung. Used the model “Samsung32A” On and Off both work. I clicked “Use this model” and it went to download the plugin for the TI Watch. ???
You’ll definitely want one of the MCV Team to look at that, so it’ll pay to open a Ticket with a hyperlink to this forum post (so they can get all the detail you’ve posted here, along with any followup)
When you pick something from the IR/Remote picker, it loads code files like a plugin… followed by associating it with the IR Blaster that you select (in your case, the SQBlaster, but that doesn’t matter)
It sounds like they might have “reused” Plugin Id’s when the new Apps.mios.com was built and/or that the Id’s represented in the IR/Remote Picker were somehow mismatched with the corresponding PluginId.
A user with a Vera2 unit, running UI4, could use the picker to “install” the Samsung TV from that MiOS Rev and “give” you the files (which you’d then manually install into Vera, bypassing the above problem). They might need a little detail to ensure they Pick the “right” Samsung unit from the UI4 IR/Remote Picker since these are user-built and the names are often dups (etc)
IR plugins are currently broken in UI5. Installing an IR plugin should use a different install procedure than installing a Luup plugin, but currently it doesn’t. That’s why you get random Luup plugins. AFAIK Aaron was working on fixing this.
