adding cameras in UI5

I have had a camera added to my UI5 before, but I deleted to add another one and now I can’t get any cameras to show up in the dashboard. I go through the manual add and get the icon for a for the object not the picture. As I have read, you can add the camera anyway, so I do, and it states it is added, but when I go to the devices page and list all, there are no cameras there. This is very confusing to me why it isn’t there since I have had it loaded before. I can access it fine through the web page via the ip address and port number all day long. Can anyone tell me if this is a bug? I have read many of the Foscam posts and they all seem to offer some pretty good information, but I can’t seem to get anything to work…

And since it says it is adding the camera, shouldn’t it show up somewhere? Even if I can’t see the picture?

Thanks for the help

If you power cycle the cameras Vera should detect and add them automatically. Did you try this?

Yes, I have tried to power cycle Vera, the modem, the camera… etc. Vera never sees the camera. I have enable UPnP and it still does not see it.

Have you checked that the camera settings (in the Settings tab) are correct? The add camera wizard has some issues.

yes, they are all correct. I have had it working once, but I deleted the camera and then tried to install it again. But now it doesn’t work. I am just about to the point to start all over with a system reset before I get too many other devices on this controller. Any other suggestions?

Can you enable Tech Support and send me the codes at florin@my.mios.com?

i had the same issues with importing my yawcam (dont have an ip-cam so i figured this would work also hehe)
the thing is you should open browser and type the local ip adres of the vera 3/light and login to it (if neccesary) and then goto account and login there as well. now goto devices and add device > choose add ip-cam > select manual > type in the intern ip adress of the cam with the port (for yawcam: 192.168..:8081 port is important here) click on next… this screen shows some pulldown menu where u can choose generic ip-cam > type the correct path of the .jpg file > press next > you see the picture? press add cam and ur done.

I recently bought another Foscam camera and was trying to add it. I experienced similar issues as the original post. I did this process several times with the same result (no camera showing up).

I resolved my problem by logging into my Vera2 locally (192.168.xxx.xxx) vs. https://cp.mios.com. Once I logged into it locally and ran through the wizard it appeared in the device list.

Figured I would pass my experience on.

it seems after x time the device loose it port-setting and stopped working… using local login would also show the cameras previously added with the correct mac-adress so video record can work.
last post i forgot to add that in the ip-cam device in advanced options the mac-adres should be set in order to be able to have video-recording saved on mios servers
