adding a usb-stick to my Veralight to store my logs.

I am relatively new to the Vera Light, but I have severaL thing going very well on the vera.

I have been trying to get a usb-stick to function with my Veralight. I tried with 3 different 8gb usb-sticks, some brand new. In Setup->Logs i select “store on usb device”. I keep getting the message “disabled|not-mounted||”.
What am I doing wrong?

From the wiki:

UI5

[ul][li] Select “Setup”[/li]
[li] Select the "Logs"tab[/li]
[li] Activate the “Store logs on USB device*” option and READ the text there:

Please connect an USB drive first then check the checkbox.
WARNING: The USB drive will be erased. Wait 20 minutes after clicking OK.
Status
[/li]

[li] Click the “OK” button.[/li][/ul]

Wait until vera reports progress.

If MiOS reports “FAILURE”, repeat the process. If MiOS reports Success, you are done.

Are you waiting long enough?
Have you restarted Vera after the wait period?
Is there no message(red text) below the USB status button?

Does the stick maybe have a small switch for write protect/enable?

Thank you for trying to help me C4vette and Z-waver!

There are no little switches on any one of the usb-sticks. I have waited several times for more than 1/2 hour for the drive to be ready.
I don’t get any message from the Vera light but the “disabled|not-mounted||”

I’ve tried another usb-stick 4Gb formatted in fat32. still no result.

i tried in ssh fdisk -l with the following result:

Vera is very picky about USB Flash drives. I get good results using SanDisk Cruzer Fit 4GB - straight from the packet. They also tuck-in the back very neatly.
