add Honeywell L5100 Alarm as Secondary with Vera3 UI7

I’m at my wits end trying to get Vera3 with UI7 to take the Honeywell L5100 as a secondary controller. I hit the “Pri. Controller Switch to Secondary” on the L5100 and none of the add device icons will add it.

I can switch Vera3 to a secondary to the L5100 via “Copy Z-Wave network from a master controller” or “Controller Shift” but that isn’t what I need to do.

Any help Please??

Have you found a way to Shift Controller roles between Vera and Honeywell controller??
I have been dealing with a VAM (Vista Automation Module) Zwave controller that I need to run as Primary…
Txs.

It can be done but I can’t recommend it. Better off with Vera 7 as primary.

L5100 being a Lynx panel, I believe it gives access to Honeywell TotalConnect2 services and for that you’re best bet is to run it as Primary Controller for full TC2 Remote useage… that is what I gathered about TC2 with the Honeywell Vista.

In order to add a secondary Honeywell controller to a Primary Vera, simply run a “Add device…” on both units. This will allow Vera to include and populate Honeywell with all existing devices as seen from the Primary. That works quite well also to update new devices from Primary to Secondaries.

What I don’t know is how to to shift Vera’s Primary role to Honeywell (LYNX/TUXEDO/VAM) ???
update: I’ve now figured out how to shift roles… done in LowPwr mode

Hello ElGringoCurioso,

If I add the Honeywell security panel as secondary to a primary Vera, what can you do from the Vera UI? At a minimum, I’d like to be able to see arm / disarm status, similar to a sensor. Even better would be to be able to arm/disarm the alarm system from Vera.

Guys, I am new to this and I tried to connect my tuxedo to my VeraPlus but it automatically made my VeraPlus secondary and the Tuxedo primary. It also made my VeraPlus show as offline on the control panel so I could not get into it all. Had to do a hard reset and start again. Luckily I had a backup.

Can anyone give me step by step instruction to let me connect the Tuxedo as a secondary controller please? I need to be able to arm and disarm from the VeraPlus. I am open to better configuration ideas.
